The local boats that participate in regattas around the lake bring honor and prestige to the Oswego and Selkirk Yacht Clubs. It is evident that some of Lake Ontario’s best sailors are members of these Oswego County Yacht Clubs. With 32 boats registered for sailing this year at the OYC, Oswego’s fleet is the largest Lake Ontario fleet with the exception of the metropolitan cities of Toronto, Buffalo and Rochester. The fleet is from all over Central NY creating a high caliber, competitive local racing program. Racing at the OYC weekly races fine tunes the skipper and crews skills to prepare them to compete on the regional, National and International Levels.
